BOSS BEAT SPONSORS TRASHARAMA A-GO-GO
Believe it or not, we're doing our bit to help out budding film makers, but chipping in to help out Australia's longest running Trash film festival. Doctor J's 'Blood of a Woman' was a past screener, many years ago, and he wants to repay those who helped start his film career. BOSS BEAT SCREENS AT THE MU MESON ARCHIVES
At the invitation of Jay Katz & Miss Death, Boss Beat screened along with Doctor J's 'Bollywood a Go Go' collection of sixties Indian music clips. There were live appearances from Hepcat and BB (who almost broke the projector!) and DVD giveaways. All had a great time! Following the success of the screening, Triple J film critic, Megan Spence, will be reviewing Boss Beat on her national radio spot, on Saturday, 24th June 2006. Hope she liked it!June 2006
DOCTOR J PANELS AT CONFLUX
Doctor J appears on low budget film making panels at Australia's premier science fiction convention, CONFLUX. Held in Canberra over the Queen's birthday long weekend, Doctor J was on the panels with Jonathan Hardy (actor, screenwriter), and Craig Anderson (Double the Fist). A very successful weekend with lots of interest from budding movie makers. Doctor J says, 'go for it, just break out the camera, shoot something and start learning!'

BOSS BEAT SCREENING AT SUPANOVA
It's now official! Boss Beat will have it's Australian and world premiere public screening at Brisbane's Supanova convention. BB will be screened on April 21st, the opening preview night, at Australia's biggest comic book and animation convention. Details will be posted soon, and you can check updates at www.supanova.com.au Doctor J and Brian Bolton (Red Menace) will be in Brisbane for the convention, so come along, see Boss Beat and pay us a visit!February 2006
BOSS BEAT WINS ARCHIBALD PRIZE
Well, he hasn't won yet, but we know he will. BB himself is currently working on a self portrait for entry into Australia's most prestigious painting awards. For those of you in the rest of the world, the Archibald Prize is a competition to encourage excellence in portraiture. It's open to anyone in the country with a brush and canvas, and attracts entries from Australia's most talented artists. And Boss Beat. Following the success of his first venture some years ago (BB's self portrait, his first EVER painting of anything, was selected for the Salon des Refusees showing; the runners-up event), the Boss has decided to do it all again. We'll post an image as soon as it's complete, but until then it's top secret. Entries close at the end of March, so you won't have to wait too long.January 2006
It's official: Boss Beat gets his own 'SPECIAL EDITION' DVD. Work has started on the premium version, chock full of extras that you don’t really want. Great useless stuff like audio commentary and lame-arse goofs and outtakes, and deleted scenes that should never have been shot in the first place. Stay tuned for news of a release date, but we're hoping mid 2006.

It was 29th October 2005, an evening that will live forever in the minds of all who made it there, and a day of regret for those that didn't.
