GEETA
MERA NAAM (My Name is Geeta)
Mad
Villain who carries around a stuffed monkey from his childhood, and
slides his enemies into boiling wax to turn them into statues. Fantastic
song in the bad guy's lair, where Geeta is being whipped, while two
dancers do a number in a giant bubble bath, for no apparent reason.
It's stuff like this, outrageously inventive and colorful, that makes
these films a treat. The woman in the silver outfit is the wonderful
'Helen' (no last name), and the man also appears in a dance number in
ROOP TERA MASTANA, but neither otherwise appears in the movie. The music
is less western sounding than much of the material on this site, but
still accessible to western ears: it's a good way of getting into the
more traditional stuff. The tagline for this film is 'An R.K. Nayyar
idea of a Motion Picture'. Well, all I can say is I like the way he
thinks!
